Pertanyaan utama dari artikel ini adalah mengenai siapakan hassatan dalam Zakharia 3:1-2. Jawaban dari pertanyaan ini akan diberikan melalui sebuah studi mendalam mengenai hassatan, metafora-metafora yang dipakai dan plot dari cerita yang dikisahkan dalam bagian tersebut. Melalui sebuah rekonstruksi terhadap identitas hassatan, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa meskipun hassatan tidak dapat diidentifikasi, figur ini cukup minor namun antagonistis terhadap Allah dan umat-Nya.
