Abstract

Imputasi adalah doktrin penting dalam kekristenan. Namun, setelah melakukan studi eksegesis terhadao teks-teks penting yang dianggap mendukung doktrin ini: Roma 4:1-25 dan 2 Korintus 5:21, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa teks-teks tersebut tidak berbicara mengenai kebenaran Kristus yang diimputasikan kepada orang percaya. Di sisi lain, Roma 4:1-25 menekankan mengenai pembenaran karena iman kepada Yesus yang sudah dibangkitkan untuk pembenaran kita. Sedangkan dalam 2 Korintus 5:21, "Dia (Yesus) yang tidak mengenal dosa telah dibuat-Nya menjadi dosa karena kita," tidak berbicara mengenai imputasi dosa orang percaya kepada Yesus, tetapi menyatakan mengenai Yesus yang adalah kurban dosa yang tidak bercacat. Selain itu, beberapa ayat dalam 2 Korintus 5 (ay. 14-15, 17, 18, 19, 21) justru menyatakan bahwa pembenaran dilakukan kepada orang percaya karena mereka telah menyatu dengan Kristus. Karena Kristus telah dibenarkan dengan kebangkitan-Nya, orang percaya yang ada di dalam-Nya pun dibenarkan juga bersama-sama dengan Kristus (Rm. 4:25).
