Manifestasi Kehadiran Allah dalam Bait-Nya: Proklamasi Firman, Bahasa Roh, dan Nubuat dalam 1 Korintus 14

Artikel ini mengkaji 1 Korintus 14 untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian: Bagaimana kehadiran Allah dinyatakan di gereja sebagai Bait-Nya? Tujuannya adalah untuk menganalisis pengajaran Paulus guna menentukan bagaimana praktik-praktik ibadah gereja Korintus selaras dengan identitas mereka sebagai Bait Allah. Metode yang dipakai adalah analisis tekstual terhadap nas tersebut, yang dibentuk oleh studi mengenai konteks sosio-historis jemaat Korintus. Paulus menegaskan bahwa gereja Korintus gagal mewujudkan identitasnya sebagai Bait Allah ketika anggota-anggotanya berkata-kata dengan bahasa roh tanpa interpretasi dalam ibadah. Tindakan ini tidak memberitakan firman Allah secara jelas, bahkan menghalangi orang-orang yang belum percaya untuk mengalami kehadiran Allah. Sebaliknya, nubuat mencakup pemberitaan Injil yang dapat dimengerti untuk membangun iman orang percaya dan memberi kesempatan kepada yang belum percaya untuk mendengar Allah berbicara kepada mereka sehingga mereka mengalami kehadiran Allah di tengah umat-Nya. Dengan demikian, praktik nubuat lebih sejalan dengan identitas misi gereja sebagai Bait Allah dibandingkan dengan bahasa roh tanpa interpretasi. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa gereja-gereja masa kini perlu mengutamakan khotbah yang jelas daripada ucapan-ucapan ekstase dalam ibadah untuk mewujudkan kehadiran Allah.
