Abstract

Makna dari makan sudah mengalami pergeseran arti seiring dengan perkembangan yang masif dari industri fast food. Industri ini telah menjadikan makan sekadar sebagai aktivitas instan yang tidak lagi memperhatikan masalah ekologi, sosial, dan spiritualitas. Makanan dipandang sebagai barang komoditi, dan manusia terhisab dalam konsumerisme. Di dalam teologi Kristen, makan merupakan latihan spiritualitas yang membawa kita masuk ke dalam persekutuan dengan ciptaan yang lain demi tujuan yang sama, yaitu memuliakan nama Tuhan.
